Menchikatsu 11 (breadcrumbed & fried beef patties)
Serves 8 persons
600g beef mince
Pinch of nutmeg
Splash of soy sauce
Small amount of salt (soy sauce is very salty so please be careful)
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
Dash of tabasco
Saute the chopped onion very gently in the butter until golden & caramelised (approx 20 mins).
Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk & beaten egg.
Add all the other ingredients & mix well by hand for 5 minutes.
Slap the patties from one hand to the other to help remove the air.
Pass through flour, then egg wash & finally breadcrumb.
Deep fry when you need them & serve with HP sauce or the Japanese traditional Tonkatsu sauce.
